Python Development Services: AI, Data and API Services in Production

We use Python where it is strongest: machine learning, AI and LLM pipelines, OCR and document processing, optimisation and data-heavy services, exposed through fast, typed FastAPI services that your web and mobile apps can call. We also take over and upgrade existing Python codebases. Our engineering team is in Islamabad, Pakistan, and works with clients worldwide. For AI products end to end, see our AI development services.

Python Problems We Are Usually Asked to Solve

Models Stuck in Notebooks

A model works on a laptop but has no API, no tests, no monitoring and no way to retrain safely.

Slow Synchronous Services

Blocking I/O in request handlers, or CPU-heavy work in the web process, makes response times unpredictable.

Unsupported Python Versions

Production still runs a Python release past its end of life, with pinned dependencies nobody dares upgrade.

Untyped, Untested Data Code

Data shapes are implicit, so a change upstream silently breaks a report or pipeline days later.

Actual Deliverables

What We Build With Python

FastAPI Microservices

Typed APIs with Pydantic validation and generated OpenAPI documentation, ready to sit behind your web or mobile app.

Machine Learning Services

Prediction and optimisation models with TensorFlow and scikit-learn, served behind an API, such as the border wait-time forecasting model and routing engine in our logistics case study.

LLM and Retrieval Pipelines

Document ingestion, embeddings, retrieval with access control and evaluation, delivered through our AI integration services.

OCR and Document Processing

Extraction of structured data from scans and photos, with human review before anything is committed, as in our patient intake case study.

Geospatial and Optimisation Services

Route and network calculations on PostGIS, with live data overlays such as weather and traffic.

Data Pipelines and Automation

Scheduled ingestion, transformation and reporting jobs with retries, logging and alerts instead of fragile cron scripts.

Python vs Node.js: Where Each Belongs in Your System

Is Python the Right Choice for This Service?

This is for you if

  • The work is AI or machine learning

Prediction models, LLM features, retrieval pipelines or computer vision, where Python's ecosystem is the standard.

  • You process documents or data at scale

OCR, extraction, transformation and reporting jobs that need mature numerical and data libraries.

  • Your prototype lives in notebooks

A data scientist has proven the idea, and it now needs to run reliably as a tested, monitored service.

  • Your existing Python code needs care

An unsupported Python version, missing tests or a fragile script that the business now depends on.

Not the right fit if

  • A standard web app with no data or AI work

For typical SaaS and portal backends, one TypeScript stack (Node.js or Next.js) is usually simpler and shares types with the frontend.

  • Research without a product goal

We build production services. Open-ended academic research is better suited to a research partner.

How a Python Project Runs

01

Data and Feasibility

Prove

We look at your real data and success criteria first, and test whether the approach works on it before committing to a production build.

02

Typed, Tested Services

Build

The proven approach becomes a FastAPI service with type hints, validation, automated tests and evaluation sets, shown in bi-weekly video walkthroughs.

03

Deploy, Monitor and Hand Over

Operate

Services are containerised and deployed into your cloud account with logging, metrics and model or output monitoring, then documented and handed over.

Proven Experience

Python Client Work Under NDA

Enterprise Verification

Engineering integrity is our only metric. Per strict institutional Non-Disclosure Agreements governing this capability space, we do not publicly disclose internal client profiles, metric hallucinations, or unmapped claims.

Risk Vectors

Upgrading and Productionising Python Code

Moving to a Supported Python Version

Each Python release has a published support window (see the Python release status page). We upgrade dependencies, fix incompatibilities and run tests on the new version before switching production.

From Notebook to Service

Notebook logic is moved into modules with tests, wrapped in an API, and given versioned models and evaluation data so results can be reproduced.

Adding Types and Tests to Legacy Code

Type hints and tests are added around the most critical paths first, so the code can be changed safely without a rewrite.

Technical Defense

Performance and Architecture in Python Services

Async for I/O-Bound Work

Services that wait on databases, APIs or model providers use asyncio with an async framework such as FastAPI, so one slow call does not hold up others.

CPU-Bound Work and the GIL

In the standard CPython build, the global interpreter lock limits pure-Python threads to one core at a time. Heavy computation runs in separate worker processes or in native libraries such as NumPy and TensorFlow, outside the request path.

Validated Data at Every Boundary

Pydantic models define and validate every request, response and pipeline record, so bad data fails loudly at the edge instead of deep inside a model.

Human Review Where It Matters

For high-stakes outputs such as healthcare intake data, extracted results go to a review queue before they are committed, rather than being written automatically.

Common Questions

What do you build with Python?+
Mainly AI, data and processing services: machine learning models served behind APIs, LLM and retrieval pipelines, OCR and document extraction, route optimisation and data pipelines. In our published case studies, Python FastAPI services handle insurance card OCR for a patient portal and route optimisation for a logistics fleet.
Should our whole backend be in Python?+
Not necessarily. Python is the strongest choice for machine learning and data work, but for typical web APIs, real-time features and integrations we often use Node.js with TypeScript, which shares types with React and Next.js frontends. Many of our systems combine both, with Python services behind a Node.js or Next.js application layer.
Can you turn our data scientist's notebook into a production service?+
Yes. We move the logic into tested modules, wrap it in a FastAPI service with validation, version the model and evaluation data so results are reproducible, and deploy it with logging and monitoring. Your data scientist stays involved to confirm the results match.
Is Python fast enough for production APIs?+
For most API workloads, yes. Async frameworks such as FastAPI handle I/O-bound requests efficiently, and heavy numerical work runs in optimised native libraries. Where CPU-heavy processing would slow requests down, we move it to background workers or separate processes.
Do you use Django or FastAPI?+
Our published case studies use FastAPI for microservices, because it is lightweight, async and generates OpenAPI documentation from typed models. For a large server-rendered admin application in Python, Django can be a sensible choice, and we discuss the trade-offs during discovery.
Can you upgrade our old Python application?+
Yes. We audit dependencies, add tests around critical paths, upgrade to a supported Python version and fix incompatibilities, then run the new version in staging before switching production. The Python release status page lists which versions still receive security fixes.
Where is your team, and who owns the code?+
Our engineering team is in Islamabad, Pakistan, and works with clients worldwide, including the UK, US and the Gulf. You own the full IP in the code, pipelines and models we build, deployed into cloud accounts you control; third-party models remain under their providers' licences.
