What is MVP development?+
MVP development is building the smallest version of a product that real users can use to test whether the idea works. It is not a mock-up or a slide deck: it is working software with a core workflow, authentication and a sound data model. The aim is to learn from real usage as early as possible, then decide what to build next based on evidence rather than assumptions.
How is your MVP service different from your SaaS development service?+
Our SaaS development service focuses on multi-tenant SaaS platforms: tenant isolation, subscription billing and scaling. MVP development covers the first version of any type of product, from a marketplace or internal tool to a customer-facing app, and starts earlier, with validation and scope decisions. If your MVP is a SaaS product, it can move into our SaaS development service once the first version proves the idea.
How long does it take to build an MVP?+
A focused SaaS MVP typically takes 8 to 12 weeks from agreed technical requirements to a production release, and other first-version products follow a similar pattern when the scope is tight. Extra user roles, third-party integrations, compliance requirements and AI features extend the timeline. We agree the scope before the build starts, and bi-weekly video walkthroughs of working software let you catch changes early.
How much does MVP development cost for a UK business?+
It depends on scope. Our UK custom web application cost guide gives a planning range of roughly £25,000 to £45,000 for a robust MVP, and our SaaS development cost guide puts a focused B2B SaaS MVP at roughly $25,000 to $65,000. User roles, integrations, compliance and team shape move the figure. We quote for your product after scoping it, not from a generic price list.
Should I validate my idea before building an MVP?+
Yes. Validation is cheaper than building the wrong product. Our AI Dev Planner platform helps founders run market research, competitor analysis, assumption mapping and validation experiments, and produces an MVP scope, tech stack, budget and roadmap. Our guide to validating a SaaS idea in 7 days explains the process. When the evidence supports the idea, we can scope and build the MVP from that plan.
How do you decide what to cut from an MVP?+
We start from the one workflow that proves the idea and ask of every other feature whether the first users need it to get value. Admin dashboards, advanced settings, extra integrations and edge-case roles usually wait. Everything left out goes on a written cut list with the reason, so it is a deliberate decision you can revisit after launch, not something forgotten.
Can a UK startup work effectively with your team in Pakistan?+
Yes. We work with founders in the UK, US and the Gulf from our engineering base in Islamabad, Pakistan. Islamabad is four hours ahead of the UK in summer and five in winter, so UK mornings and early afternoons overlap with our working day. You get a dedicated Slack channel, bi-weekly video walkthroughs of working builds and direct access to the engineers.
Who owns the MVP code, and what happens after launch?+
You own 100% of the intellectual property, including source code, database design and documentation, once the final invoice is settled, with no licence fees or lock-in. After launch, a 60 to 90 day warranty period covers defects in what we delivered. You can then move to a maintenance retainer, and new features are scoped as separate phases based on what real users do with the product.
